Yoga Class Descriptions

HOT Speedball Poweryoga - Toby Traylor

A complete 60 minute routine enthusiastically and knowledgeably instructed in a heated room 90º .  This class is The perfect mix of vinyasa flow for cardio vascular workout plus strength and flexibility thru standing and floor asanas ..Music plays an integral part of the work out...

Beginner HOT Poweryoga- Heated room 85-90º detailed asana instruction in a friendly atmosphere, cool tunes. Smiles. We'll take our time to slowly, mindfully, and with attention to breath and the details of alignment- move deeply...in the body.

Yoga Flow & Mixed Level - Cindy Hutchison, RYT..Appropriate for Advanced beginners to intermediate. Vinyasa is a term that covers a broad range of yoga classes. The word Vinyasa means “breath-synchronized movement.” In other words, the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. This technique is sometimes also called Vinyasa Flow, or just Flow because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance. Expect a stronger practice which will include Back bending asanas, inversions and partner work and attention to breath and precise alignment.

BeginnersCindy Reed LCSW Basic level classes are for students who are establishing a basic knowledge of yoga.  Instruction and pace will adapt to the class level. Attention to yoga therapeutics and its application to the individual's needs, precise alignment instruction and encouragement in developing conscious awareness utilizing the breath and inner body taught in a compassionate and friendly environment.  Some students tell me they feel so comfortable in this class that they "plan to stay at this level for a long time".

Gentle Yoga -Irene Perry RYT

Gentle Yoga:  Hatha blend flow class at a slower pace with breath and precise alignment emphasized.  Theme- centered class to deepen your understanding of how a yoga practice builds inner resources to assist in responding to life, blended with guided meditation.  Beginner to advanced beginner poses with modifications and therapeutic applications.

Funky Monday Flow with Sarah Braun RYT – this class is appropriate for advanced beginners to intermediate. It is designed to balance the strength and flexibility of the body. The teacher will often supplement the class with yoga philosophy to build a vital link between the mental and physical. Music will be played and smiles will be shared. This class will not only enliven the body, but will also calm the mind through a focus on breath-initiated movements. A perfect balance of structure and flow, the teacher will lead the class through a sequence of asanas with attention paid to alignment to create space in the body and clarity in the mind.  Come with a playful attitude and leave feeling both mentally and physically blissful!

Kripalu - with Anita Courtney RYT...Wednesday 7:00p

Anita attempts to create a meaningful experience for students that “follows them off the mat”.   She uses asana, breath, mediation and readings to teach practices that are ultimately designed to make us happier!  Anita received her yoga teaching certification at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in 20000. She is a certified Relax and Renew instructor for restorative yoga.  She studied mediation at the Shambhala Center and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction at the Duke Center for Integrative Medicine.  Anita aims to make the practice accessible for new students and long time practitioners.

Yoga Sync, a restorative yoga class. with Lauren Ward...Appropriate for beginners to the advanced and experienced, Yoga Sync is a class designed to invite a deeper self awareness to emerge from within, as we explore the Restorative aspects of Yoga. Through Asana and the other limbs of Yoga, Pranayama (Breath Awareness) and Pratyahara (Sense Withdrawl), We invite ourselves to go deep within, slowly, to re-sync our Mind, Body, and Spirit into a more harmonious space not only within ourselves, but with our environment as well. My Intention is to facilitate a safe environment for one to experience the True Balance and Peace that can emerge from within, when we bring alignment to the breath, Pelvis and Spine. Come Revitalize, Restore, and Refresh yourself with Yoga Sync."

Kettlebells - Ro Farthing, It's Not yoga.  Boot camp style, old school strength & fitness training with a new twist. Kettlebells  5lbs. through 45lbs.  Expect to be Challanged.  All levels.   Bring water and a towel.

WALK IN FEE $24, or 2 classes from your series card

In a culture of slouched posture and tight hips, structural alignment through back bending and lengthening while strengthening the spine and leg muscles is the antidote for problems ranging from depression to anxiety, from pain to problems assimilating or procreating.  This workshop will offer practical tools and theory to help make the openings safer and sustainable as we work to stabilize what we have and move just a touch deeper.  Come prepared to move, to be still,

to breathe deep and learn!
